Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Meta/Facebook Developer account? expand_more

No. Free and Introduction send OTPs from our shared WhatsApp number. To use your own number (optional on Introduction, required on Starter Ecommerce), you connect it with Facebook from your WALoops dashboard in about two minutes. No developer app or access tokens needed.

What do I need to send codes from my own WhatsApp number? expand_more

Meta only allows login-code (authentication) messages from your own number once that WhatsApp account has a payment method and is past Meta's starting limit of 250 conversations a day. You get past it by verifying your business in Meta Business Settings, or by sending good-quality messages to enough customers. Until then, your codes keep sending from our shared number, so customers can still log in. Our team can help with each step.

How long until codes come from my own number? expand_more

After you connect your number, we submit the login-code template on your WhatsApp account and Meta reviews it. On new accounts that can take up to 24 hours; on established ones it is often minutes. Your codes keep sending from our shared number meanwhile, and switch to your number automatically once it is approved.

Does WooCommerce checkout verification work on every plan? expand_more

It's a Starter Ecommerce feature. Free and Introduction cover login and registration only — upgrade to Starter Ecommerce to add WhatsApp OTP verification at checkout.

What happens when I hit my monthly OTP limit? expand_more

Sends are blocked with a clear message until next month, or until you upgrade — nothing breaks silently.

Can I customize the WhatsApp message wording? expand_more

WhatsApp only allows pre-approved wording for one-time-passcode messages, so you pick from a few approved variants (code only / code + expiry / code + expiry + security warning) rather than writing free-form copy.

Does this replace my WordPress login form? expand_more

No — it's always an added option next to your existing username/password login and registration forms.

Can I cancel or downgrade any time? expand_more

Yes, from the plugin's settings page. Cancelling a paid plan moves your account back to Free at the end of the current billing period.
