WooCommerce One-Page Checkout with WhatsApp OTP Login: Setup Guide
Set up a slide-in cart and one-panel WooCommerce checkout where shoppers sign in with a WhatsApp code. Free plugin, works with your gateways and COD.
In this guide
- A one-page checkout puts address, delivery, payment and coupon on a single screen, so mobile shoppers have fewer chances to leave.
- WALoops Express Checkout for WooCommerce adds a slide-in cart and a one-panel checkout on top of WooCommerce. It's free on WordPress.org.
- Shoppers can sign in with a WhatsApp code inside the panel. A new number becomes a normal WooCommerce customer, and a returning number brings back saved addresses.
- Orders are still created by WooCommerce's own checkout, so your gateways, order emails, stock and reports keep working.
WALoops Express Checkout adds a slide-in cart and one-panel checkout to WooCommerce, with WhatsApp code login, saved addresses and coupon selection. The free plugin is available on WordPress.org, and its WhatsApp login includes 100 codes a month from the WALoops number. WooCommerce still creates the orders, so existing gateways continue to work.
What changes for shoppers?
Express Checkout replaces separate cart and checkout pages with a slide-in cart and a single checkout panel.
| Standard WooCommerce | With Express Checkout |
|---|---|
| Add to cart, then load the cart page | The cart slides in on the same page |
| Load a separate checkout page | Checkout opens as a side panel or popup on top of the page |
| Type a password, or reset it | Get a six-digit code on WhatsApp, or check out as a guest |
| Retype the address every time | Pick a saved address |
| Leave to hunt for a coupon code | Choose from a "Coupons for you" list |
How do I set up Express Checkout?
Install and activate the plugin, then configure its cart, checkout panel, login options and payment gateways.
- Install the plugin. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New, search for "WALoops Express Checkout", then install and activate it. WooCommerce must already be active.
- Check the cart and panel. Open Express Checkout in the admin menu. The cart drawer and checkout panel are on by default, so add a product on your shop to see them.
- Choose the layout. On the General tab, pick sidebar or popup and where the floating cart button sits. If your theme has its own cart icon or checkout button, enter its CSS selector and the plugin takes over from it.
- Turn on WhatsApp login. On the Login tab, choose how shoppers sign in: WhatsApp code, email code, email and password, or guest checkout, in any mix. For WhatsApp, create a free WALoops account from that tab and paste your API key.
- Check your payment gateways. On the Payment Gateways tab, mark any gateway that should finish on the full WooCommerce checkout page instead of inside the panel.
- Test a real order on your phone: add to cart, sign in with your WhatsApp number, and place a COD order and a prepaid one.
Why use WhatsApp login at checkout?
WhatsApp login lets shoppers verify their phone number with a code and return to saved addresses for repeat orders.
- No password step. The shopper types a number they know and gets a code in an app they open every day.
- A real phone number on every order. A shopper who signs in with a code has proved the number works, which matters for delivery calls and COD.
- Faster repeat orders. A returning number brings back the saved addresses, so the second order takes a few taps.
- Safe for the store. Codes are single-use and short-lived, and requests are rate-limited per phone number, per email and per visitor. Administrators and shop managers can't sign in through the panel; they use the normal login page.
Does Express Checkout work with payment gateways and COD?
Yes. The panel uses the gateways you've already set up in WooCommerce. Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay and cash on delivery work without extra setup: card gateways take the card inside the panel, and redirect gateways send the shopper off to pay. If a gateway doesn't behave inside the panel, mark it on the Payment Gateways tab. Shoppers who pick it finish on your normal checkout page with their address and delivery choice already filled in.
COD is labelled as such in the panel and works with WooCommerce's own Cash on Delivery gateway. If a lot of your orders are COD, the free plugin covers the checkout. The pricing rules come with Pro.
What do Free and Pro include?
Free includes the slide-in cart, one-panel checkout and core login options; Pro adds buying, promotion and COD features.
| Feature | Free | Pro ($79/year, 1 site) |
|---|---|---|
| Slide-in cart and one-panel checkout | Yes | Yes |
| WhatsApp code, email code, password and guest login | Yes | Yes |
| Saved addresses, coupon list, trust badges | Yes | Yes |
| Buy Now button | No | Yes |

Agency is the same Pro feature set for up to 5 sites at $149 a year. Pro installs in place of the free plugin and keeps your settings. For the COD rules in detail, see the WooCommerce COD fee guide.
How do I fix common checkout issues?
Use the plugin's General or Payment Gateways tab to fix cart links, gateway handoffs or temporarily restore native checkout.
- The theme's cart icon still opens the cart page. Enter the icon's CSS selector on the General tab.
- A gateway fails inside the panel. Mark it on the Payment Gateways tab so it hands off to the full checkout.
- You need the old checkout back now. Turn on the kill switch on the General tab. Every shopper goes back to the native cart and checkout, and your settings are kept.
Can I send WhatsApp updates after an order?
Yes. The WooCommerce WhatsApp integration sends order confirmation, COD confirmation and shipping update messages automatically. The COD verification guide shows how to confirm COD orders before you ship. For the plugin itself, see WALoops Express Checkout.
